Am I good candidate for laser?
- The technology we use at Gentle Touch is suitable for ALL skin types – this means that regardless of the color of your skin you can have laser hair removal. However, darker skin types will typically need to be treated with caution and may require more treatments than fair skinned clients.
- Hair color is the other determining factor. Hair that is light in color ie. blonde, gray and red will not be affected by the energy of the laser as much and thus may remain post treatment.
How long does laser hair removal last?
- The beauty of laser hair removal is that it is permanent! Most clients will opt to do a single treatment 6 months after completing treatment to clear up any stubborn hair follicles. In addition, hormonal changes like the ones you experience during pregnancy, can bring on new, unwanted hair growth. So if you have a baby, don’t be surprised if you discover some patches of hair reappear, even if you’ve already gone through a round of laser treatments long ago.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Typically clients require 6-8 treatments to get a good clearing of any body area. Some clients will respond more quickly than others depending on hair cycles, color of skin/hair and intervals between appointments. We recommend 8 week intervals for body and 6 weeks for facial areas.

How should I prepare for my laser hair removal appointment?
Preparing for your appointment is simple:
- Shave the area to be treated the day before
- If you previously waxed, tweezed or had electrolysis treatment, you must wait at least one month prior to your appointment and will need to be shaved before your treatment
- Avoid using any retinol or glycolic products for 3 days prior
- Do not use SUNLESS tanning products for one week prior in the area to be treated
- If you have had recent sun exposure in the area being treated we recommend that book your appointment for when the tan is no longer active in that area.
Can I do my consultation and treatment on the same day?

For services like facials, it is absolutely ok to do the treatment right after the consultation

For technology services we do need to do a consultation in advance in order to ensure that you are a candidate and that you understand the pre/post care for the treatment
What should I expect after my laser hair removal appointment?
- Immediately after treatment, you’ll notice mild redness and swelling just around the hair follicle. This can last up to 24 hours.

If I purchase a package and don’t like the service can I return the package?
